William George Coyle

1945 - 2023

In Loving Memory of William George Coyle

William (Bill) George Coyle, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday July 19 2023, at the age of 78.

He was born on January 12 1945, at Chelsea Naval Hospital in Chelsea, MA. to his loving parents, Emily and George Coyle. The family moved to Saint-Laurent, Montreal, where he spent his early childhood and formed lasting memories. He attended Sir George Williams College, now known as Concordia, where he laid the foundation for a bright and successful future.

In 1957, the Coyle family acquired a beautiful cottage on Lake Louisa, forever changing Bill’s life. Lake life became a significant part of his existence, where he made lifelong friends, cherished extended family moments, and most importantly, found his best friend and love of is life, Susan. Their love story blossomed, and in August of 1969 Susan and Bill exchanged vows, starting a life together that was filled with laughter and adventures.

William embarked on an impressive 40 year career at the Royal Bank of Canada. Throughout his career with the bank, he built meaningful relationships with colleagues
and friends in Montreal, Toronto and Orlando.

Bill’s passions were diverse, but sports held a special place in his heart. He had a fervent love for hockey, both as a player and coach. Golf held a prominent spot in Bill’s life. It became more than just a pastime; it was an avenue to connect with friends and enjoy the beauty of life. He reveled in the game and played with enthusiasm several days a week, up until the time of his passing.

Beyond sports, he had a thirst for travel, and recently returned from an unforgettable trip to Alaska & the Yukon, exploring new horizons.

William leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his adoring wife of 54 years, Susan, who was the pillar of his life. He will forever be remembered by his two loving children, Dawna and Greg, and their respective spouses, Iain and Andrea. His two grandchildren, David and Peter, brought him immense joy and were a source of pride in his heart.

Bill’s passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for his family and friends. May his soul find eternal peace, and may we find solace in the precious memories he bestowed upon us.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
At the family’s request, your expressions of Sympathy can be expressed through donations in William’s memory to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be greatly appreciated.
