John grew up in NDG and loved Montreal, where he met Carol, his soulmate. They married in 1953 and started the family business,
John L. Schultz Ltée, in 1954. Their four children arrived from 1955 to 1962. The family settled in Montreal West, but their true home (which they built in 1964) was always at Lake Louisa.
John was a lifelong believer in exercise and fresh air. He was an accomplished skier, water skier, tennis player and golfer. One of the great pleasures of his life was swimming. He took morning dives off of the dock (or in the Ocean in Florida) well into his 90’s and took his last dip in the lake this past summer.
The family extends sincerest thanks to the wonderful caregivers, CLSC & NOVA personnel and all the medical professionals, who were outstanding in their efforts to make him comfortable.
A private funeral will take place in early January, and a celebration of life is planned for the late spring.
