It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Gratton, who left us peacefully on Sunday September 21st 2025, at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe-Claire at the age of 89 years old. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years Joyce Gratton (nee Moore), by his beloved parents, Claudia Lalonde and Oscar Gratton as well as his cherished brothers, Bernard, Gabriel, René, Germain and also by his dear sister, Thérèse. He is also deeply missed by his loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, his sister-in-law, Michèle, as well as countless other cherished family members and dear friends.
Jean worked for the company CAFO Inc. an insurance premium finance company, for over 35 years. He held several important positions in the company over the years, and worked his way up to becoming Vice President and General Manager of CAFO’s Montréal office. He retired at the age of 60 years old, and he and his wife Joyce enjoyed many happy and healthy years of retirement together. They also enjoyed their home in Deux-Montagnes for 44 years and then they lived in Saint-Eustache for eight years before moving to the West Island in 2024. Jean had a passion for family, hockey, golf, baseball, gardening, reading, writing and travelling especially to Florida. We will always remember his warmth, kindness, calm nature and generous spirit.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital for their truly excellent care, during his two weeks there and the Château Pierrefonds residence for their compassionate and attentive care.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes, no funeral will be held.
